Source of the Nymphs Nitrodi. Ischia. Watercolor sketch
I drew this watercolor sketch in a heavenly place where myth becomes reality: the healing springs of the Nitrodi nymphs. There is a legend about a healing spring dedicated to Apollo and the Nitrodes nymphs.
The spring has been known since the Greek period of the island of Ischia (around the eighth century BC). Nitrodes, to whom the fountain is dedicated, is mentioned in all classical Greek and Latin texts, starting with Homer. Like many others, the healing power of their holy water is mentioned.
